Alex F. Wade
Chairman, President and CEO, Alex Wade is responsible for the overall management of the company. With 43 years of experience, he is also a leading authority in the region on personal, commercial and equine insurance. Active in his profession and in the Nashville, Middle Tennessee community, Alex has been named Insuror of the Year by Insurors of Nashville, board member as well as past president of Insurors of Nashville and board member, treasurer and management committee chairman of Insurors of Tennessee.
In the community he has served on the boards of Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, Cumberland Club of Nashville, Genesis Learning Center of Nashville, Belle Meade Plantation, Saddle Up!, a therapeutic riding program and on the advisory board of Junior League of Nashville. He is currently a member of the Iroquois Steeplechase Race Committee, a member of the board of visitors for Battle Ground Academy and a board member of both the Belle Meade Winery and the Friends of Warner Park. Alex is also the current Commodore of Commodore Yacht Club.
Bill Egbert
Executive Vice President and Secretary, Bill Egbert manages the agency’s commercial insurance department. During his more than 40 years with Wade & Egbert, Bill has designed insurance plans for a wide variety of businesses in all categories, including service, product, manufacturing, distribution, professional and retail companies. Very active in his profession, he has served on agency advisory boards for Cigna, St. Paul, Maryland Casualty, Harleysville and The Cincinnati Insurance Company. He is also a past board member of Insurors of Nashville and Insurors of Tennessee, where he chaired the first Young Agents Conference and was named Tennessee’s Insuror of the Year. In the community, Bill served on the boards of the Hillsboro/Harding Road Exchange Club, the Sequoia Swim and Tennis Club and the Franklin Road Academy Board of Visitors.
Polly Barnes
Polly Barnes is the manager of our Employee Benefits and Personal Life/Health Services Department. She has over 30 years of experience in the insurance business, starting out at National Life Insurance Company in their home office customer service area.
Her experience includes many facets of the insurance business from home offices to regional offices, brokerage agencies and independent insurance agencies. For fifteen years she was office manager for CIGNA working with independent agents in the sale and service of life insurance, retirement plans and disability income insurance.
She has been with Wade & Egbert for 22 years serving our clients with their personal and business insurance needs for life insurance, disability income, long term care, health insurance and other related products. She also assists our commercial clients in designing their employee benefits packages including all types of group insurance products.
DeeDee Wade
DeeDee Wade is a fourth generation member of Wade & Egbert Insurance and currently holds the designation of Vice President.
After graduating from Sewanee, The University of the South, DeeDee began her career with Wade & Egbert in 2001. In 2003 she received her Certified Insurance Counselor designation. She currently serves in a number of different capacities, including personal and commercial sales production. She is head of Wade and Egbert’s equine division and oversees the agency’s marketing efforts.
Some of DeeDee’s community related activities include, involvement with Sewanee’s Alumni Association and Giving, current chairing The Iroquois Steeplechase Owner Trainer Rider Tent for a number of years, a current member of The Harpeth Hall School Young Alumni Association, committee member for Chukkers for Charity benefiting Saddle Up! and The Rochelle Center, founding member and current chair of The Young Jacksonian Society, ex officio board member of The Hermitage Home of Andrew Jackson. DeeDee is currently helping create an equine therapy program for emotionally troubled children who are part of The Youth Villages Middle Tennessee program. The program will launch in the spring of 2012. In 2011 The Nashville Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals recognized DeeDee as one of three New Faces in Philanthropy for individuals under 40 making significant contributions to their profession and community.
Frank Wade
A personal insurance specialist, Frank Wade has over 32 years experience insuring Nashvillians from all walks of life and their possessions, including many of the largest homes and estates in the region. Frank gives the same commitment to the community as he does to his customers — often going beyond the call of duty. Professionally, he is a past President of Insurors of Nashville. He has served as President of the Battle Ground Academy Alumni Association. He is a lifelong member and former Elder at Westminister Presbyterian Church, where he teaches Sunday School and has chaired numerous committees. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has benefited from Frank’s involvement since 1997, where he serves on the Executive Committee.
